At BIGH, we understand the increasing importance o At BIGH, we understand the increasing importance of having a reliable and local food production, especially in times of crisis. COVID-19 has impacted all of us, while most of our clients have been asked to temporarily close, the rest have been advised to stay confined at home. However, a lot of our fish have reached a commercial size and keeping them any longer would affect their welfare. That's why we find it essential to continue our partnership with local NGO's and associations and donate our unsold products. This week over 350kgs of striped bass were donated to Dream CPAS Bruxelles to support the building of local food banks and help overcome this crisis. And it’s only the beginning! . Chez BIGH, nous comprenons l’importance d'avoir une production alimentaire locale et durable, surtout en temps de crise. La grande majorité de nos clients habituels ont été fortement touchés par une fermeture temporaire ou le confinement à domicile. Pourtant, beaucoup de nos poissons ont atteint une taille commerciale et les garder plus longtemps affecterait leur bien-être. C’est pour cela que nous maintenons nos collaborations avec des ONG et associations pour faire des dons alimentaire de nos produits invendus. Cette semaine, plus de 350kgs de bar rayé ont été donnés à Dream CPAS Bruxelles pour soutenir la construction de banques alimentaires et aider à surmonter cette crise. Et ce n’est que le début ! . Bij BIGH proberen we een betrouwbare bron te zijn van lokaal gekweekte voeding. In tijden van crisis, zoals die waar we ons nu in bevinden, wordt het belang daarvan des te duidelijker. COVID 19 beïnvloedt ons allemaal. Zo ook een deel van onze klanten, die zoals we allemaal weten, moesten sluiten. Tegelijkertijd bevindt een groot deel van onze vissen zich op commercïële grootte. Ze langer houden zou ten nadele van hun gezondheid zijn. Daarom hebben we - in lijn met onze eerder samenwerkingen met lokale VZW's en andere organisaties - besloten de onverkochte vis te doneren. Afgelopen vrijdag gaven we 350kg gestreepte baars aan DREAM, een project van het OCMW Brussel, om zo ons steentje bij te dragen.
